Designco recently posted a news article on a prop of a large meteor that we really enjoyed working on to celebrate this years QFT film festival launch. We would also really like to show our support to Belfast based artist network, ReFound who have restyled reclaimed furniture with designs inspired by iconic films especially for the QFT café/bar. Founded in 2010 by Jill O’Neill, the ReFound mission is to create a commercial and promotional platform for Irish artists-designers-makers through the unique space where reclaimed products meet fresh, stylish design. It works with local creative talent to restyle, ‘found’ furniture and home accessories producing individual ‘works of furniture’. There will be an accompanying exhibition of work by the artists that have ‘refound’ and restyled the furniture, which runs at QFT from 20th May until 10th June. Here at designco we support any initiative that involves ‘Refounds’ Reducing or Recycling in a creative way! 75% of our own materials after any prop, exhibition or set build are all recycled or reused by play resource initiatives.
